In realization of its commitment towards the development of the education sector, Yemen LNG sponsored a capacity building training program for 60 female teachers in Shabwah governorate. The teachers are recruited by the Education Office of Shabwa with financial support from Yemen LNG according to an agreement signed in 2011, with the objective of enhancing girls’ education. At a cost of at Y.R. 2.9 million, the training was conducted by the Education Office of Shabwa and aimed at improving the teaching skills of the female teachers to ensure delivery of quality education.

Inaugurated by the Governor of Shabwa Mr. Ahmed Bahaj, the program ran from 27 December 2014 until 1st of January 2015 in the city of Ataq.

Yemen LNG will sponsor similar capacity building program for more than 100 learning inspectors in the targeted areas from 17 to 22 January and will also be conducted by the Education Office in Ataq. The objective of this training is to further enhance the role of evaluating and monitoring the performance of teachers in the target districts.
