Marib Governor meets Yemen LNG Company and fosters cooperation on higher education, water and health care

Marib Governor Sheikh Sultan Al-Arada met in Sana'a today Yemen LNG General Manager François Rafin and discussed security of the pipelines and LPG projects.

Yemen LNG boosted the investment and the employment in the Marib Governorate with the construction of the CPU2 cryogenic plant and the new LPG storage. Local contractors participated in these important projects which increase the production of LPG for the domestic market by 60%.

The Governor and Yemen LNG further discussed the orientation of the Company’s projects to the benefit of Marib inhabitants. The focus is on higher education, water and health care. Acknowledging the expectations of the youth, the scholarships programs to attend universities and vocational training in France and in Yemen are doubled in 2012. More than 80 scholarships are awarded this year to Marib students. 

Water projects continue and a new agreement was signed during the meeting for the drilling of new wells and implementation of pumping units for a budget of 162 million Yemeni Rials. Health care is the other focus of the programs and the purchase of ambulances for the Marib President Hospital was also agreed during the meeting.
