Yemen LNG and the Agriculture and Beekeeping Association of Shabwa signed in Balhaf a project agreement to support the activities of beekeepers and farmers in the districts of Jirdan, Mayfa’ah, Al Rawdhah and Rodhom.

In addition to providing training and capacity building, the project will improve honey production, animal fattening, and agricultural products. It will also provide beekeeping equipment, medicines, beehives, Elb plants as well as vaccines for animals.

Project beneficiaries include 3,600 beekeepers and farmers as well as 15,000 other indirect beneficiaries in the project area.

In support of another yet important segment of the society, Yemen LNG signed earlier this month an agreement with the Shabwa Women Development Association (SWDA) to support initiatives that aim to build the skills of women in various rural areas and provide them with income generation opportunities.

Yemen LNG General Manager Mr. François Rafin highlighted that, “the success factor behind these initiatives is that they are developed and implemented in partnership with the local communities”. “These projects”, François added, “are a continuation of Yemen LNG commitment to support our neighboring communities with projects which will always have a positive impact on their lives be it in health, education, agriculture, or in training, awareness raising and microfinance”.
